The Korean War began on June 25, 1950. In Korea, this war is still referred to as 6.25, pronounced Yuk(Six)-ee(Two)-oh(Five). But to the world, 6.25 should be more than a simple date. In our memories, this date should mean the lives of those who were once parents, children, siblings, and grandparents… In our minds, this date should mean the lives of those who were thrown into chaos and never understood why they had to fight their own brothers… In our thoughts, this date should mean the lives of those who fell on foreign battlefields dreaming of home… In our conscience, this date should mean our responsibility to reach out to those who are still living with the despair and destruction left behind by this “Forgotten War”.
